We are an enthusiastic, dedicated farming family committed with heart and soul to raising calves in an animal-friendly and environmentally friendly way. Our mission is clear: to strike the optimal balance between animal welfare, environmental management and economic interests. The calves have plenty of space to move around and receive unlimited fibre-rich roughage with chopped straw, which stimulates natural ruminating behaviour that benefits animal welfare.

However, our care and attention goes beyond animal welfare alone. We have also made great strides in environmental care. For instance, we have made our energy supply sustainable by installing, among other things, solar panels and solar collectors. A biomass boiler provides hot water for the preparation of calf milk and for heating the stalls. We have fully electric roughage distribution. We are also preparing to install a manure digester. And we grow maize a short distance from our farm, using manure from our own calves to complete the ecological circle.

A mission in animal welfare and environmental care

In addition to our work on the farm, however, we also believe it is important to enjoy life. Therefore, we try to leave our car behind whenever we can and take our bikes to get around. Dinanda has a real passion for animals and lovingly cares for our dogs, cats and koi fish. So, it’s no surprise that we often have litters of kittens and puppies. Niels, one of our sons, has his own responsibilities on the farm and also works as a self-employed mechanic. His other passion is fitness. In the future, he will eventually take over our Peter’s Farm.
