We are a true farming family that enjoys the freedom farming offers us. It is a privilege to be at home and watch the children growing up. Our son, Wouter junior, joined the business in 2015. In 1998, we made a conscious decision to become a Peter’s Farm, because the concept is the most closely related to dairy farming. You work intensively with the calves and constantly monitor their welfare.
The stalls are one big play & leisure area. The calves satisfy their suckling instincts on the teats, they can rub themselves against wall-mounted brushes and play with Skippy balls. In the evenings, at dusk, they have ‘playtime’. They get very rowdy and have plenty of fun.
We have made large investments in recent years: new stalls, a second company-owned house. That will make it easy for the next generation to take over the reins, with
Peter’s Farm being a constant factor. The system is completely geared towards guaranteeing a dignified existence for the calves, which keeps all of us motivated.
