We had a dairy farm abroad for a time. When we wanted to return to the Netherlands, this Peter’s Farm in Someren offered the ideal opportunity. Dairy farming is similar to the Peter’s Farm concept: you give the animals plenty of individual care and attention.
We believe the levels of animal welfare in the Peter’s Farm concept are unprecedented. The calves have unlimited access to roughage and water.
They can decide themselves when to drink their milk during a feeding round. Because the animals are chipped, we know exactly what they are doing. We can make changes in their care as necessary.
We have just started and are still delighted that we made this choice. It is a pleasure to negate the preconceptions of visitors time and again. They are genuinely surprised at how clean the stalls are and how much freedom of movement the calves are given. Our aspiration is to expand the Peter’s Farm further. Solar panels for the roofs are at the top of our wish list.
